We let modern technology do the hard work separating waste

REnescience sorts waste much more effectively than individuals. It sorts out the non-degradable parts (glass, wood, plastic, metals etc.) and produce 4 to 5 times the amount of biogas from the biodegradable parts (food and paper waste) compared to sorting systems handled by individuals. So why not let REnescience do all the work?

 

REnescience breaks with today’s practice of waste disposal and collection by centralizing the sorting of the waste - and in a more environmentally friendly way. Establishment of a REnescience plant is not necessarily a question of "either or", it can be "both and" in terms of source separation and centralized separation.

REnescience offers a single-point enzymatic separation of unsorted municipal solid waste resulting in a wide range of valuable outputs:

  • A bioliquid which is highly suitable for biogas production and a host of other chemical products. When the bioliquid is used for biogas production, digestate is produced as a by-product, which contains phosphorous. Phosphorous is suitable as fertiliser and the water in the digestate is returned to the REnescience plant as process water.

  • Recycling of metals and high-grade plastics contained in unsorted MSW

  • Solid fuels suitable for replacing fossil fuels in power plants producing electricity and heat
